Arhuaco is a bean origin with a great story. Grown by the Arhuaco indigenous community in the Sierra Nevada, these beans were nearly lost for good. For hundreds of years the Arhuaco people were displaced from their ancestral lands and forced into the highlands. Outsiders mistakenly thought a rare white cacao was infected and cut the trees. Luckily, some old cacao trees survived in the shade of the wilderness. After being allowed to return to their ancestral land the Arhuacos recently started to harvest their precious cacaos again. One they named “Businchari” which means “new beginning.” Odyssey Chocolate is proud to be able to help support the Arhuaco indigenous community and bring to you this amazing and rare cacao.
This version is the boldest I've ever had it. At 80% and medium plus roasted this is a fudgy bar of deliciousness!
